Alma Lace and Sterling Silver Flower Earrings
These dangling flower earrings are handmade from 1940’s American lace and dipped in sterling silver. They measure 1-1/2 inches long by 3/4 inches wide and hang from sterling silver french ear wires.
The process of handcrafting Gilded Lace jewelry is effort and time-intensive. First, the lace is cut with precision. The edges are sealed by hand-sewing on ribbons. Then the lace is sealed and shaped by dipping it into lacquer and molding it to a final shape.
After a dip in a bath of either sterling silver or 24K gold, The jewelry is filed by hand. Every hole is carefully smoothed to ensure a comfortable fit and that the lace pattern is clearly visible down to the finest detail. The jewelry is then shined and ready to wear.
