"Carrie" Sterling Dipped Vintage Lace Flower Earrings
Carrie are flower-shaped dangle earrings handmade from 1950’s Bulgarian lace originally used for table linen, then dipped in sterling silver and carefully antiqued.
The earrings hang from sterling silver French hooks. The process of handcrafting Gilded Lace jewelry is effort and time-intensive. First, the lace is cut with precision. The edges are sealed by hand-sewing on ribbons. Then the lace is sealed and shaped by dipping it into lacquer and molding it to a final shape.
After a dip in a bath of either sterling silver or 24K gold, The jewelry is filed by hand. Every hole is carefully smoothed to ensure a comfortable fit and that the lace pattern is clearly visible down to the finest detail. The jewelry is then shined and ready to wear.
